March Madness?

Hellloooo there :)

Happy Saturday! I'm definitely supposed to be writing about the Russian Revolutions in 1917, or doing analogies..... But I'd much rather paint my nails pretty colors and text, or even update this! God knows I don't do it enough.

Anyway! Not much has gone on since Tuesday, and only anything worth mentioning is in sports. We won our game against our biggest rival Tuesday, but the team was already 1-19 for the season so it wasn't that big of a deal. I feel pretty bad for whoever lost to them, that's pathetic. Yesterday some friends and I went to the State Gymnastics Tournament for individuals at our high school. Only 3 girls made it from our school, but they seemed to do pretty well. The gym was terribly crowded, we had to sit next to a team from Mukwanago, ew. They weren't very nice, but I can't really expect anyone to be nice when there's oh, say, 600 people in a gym that has about 100 tops for gym class. Then we've got our wrestlers down in Madison for the team wrestling tournament! I'm pretty excited, we're expected to win it all! We beat Muskego last night 55-12, and the only ones we really have a shot at losing to is, of course, Wausau West. A few of my friend are on the team, so I'm glad the seasons finally going to be over. BW, one of the wrestlers, went from 140 to 112 this year, grosssss! We're having some sort of food party in his and EV's honor in Biology Monday. It'll be nice for all of them to be friendly again without complaining about how hungry they are. Then lastly tonight our basketball team's playing in a playoff game against Neenah! My dad thinks he's hilarious by wearing his Neenah "Onto state t-shirt" from when he played basketball there, ha-ha-ha. Not! I'm so excited for the game! I'm pretty sure they'll win, Neenah doesn't have much height, and we've got like, five guys 6'+, including one that's 6'9". I come up to his elbow (I wish I was kidding, really) and I'm at eye level with him sitting down. Quite embarassing if you ask me!

Then there's school. schoolyschoolschool. Yippie! :
I'm doing surprisingly well for now, all A's and 2 B's, woo! I still have to sign up for my June ACT, too. Gag. I took it back in 8th grade and got an 18. I need anywhere from a 19-24 to get into Winthrop (Rock Hill, SC) and I think I need somewhere inbetween a 20-28 to get into Madison (is that right? Leave a comment if you know for sure!). I took the PLAN ACT (pre test, much like the psat) and got a combined 23, pretty good, but my Math scores were down, just as they always have been. I'd really like to take more math classes at school next year, but I can't, seeing as you need to finish Advanced Algebra/Trig before you can take AP stats, and I'm not assigned to take that until my senior year. Great, amazing. Whatever. It's not like I can't get a tutor over the summer, catch up on Geometry, maybe skip the class, I can only pray. Maybe I'm looking at it too in depth, it's not like I can't get into both of my first choice schools with those scores, so I'll just get over it. On a different note, I'm so excited for the Mock Trial State tournament next Saturday! I'm so proud of our team for making it, they all worked so hard to get there. The paper even came in to talk to all of us at practice this week! I can't wait to get down on state street and have some much needed fun! I'll probably need it, seeing as the tournament's Sunday, then there's softball tryouts Monday-Wednesday, and I have a field trip to Minneappolis on Thursday. Awesome. I'm really, really nervous for Tryouts! I didn't make the high school team last year, but they said that they wanted to see me come next spring, so hopefully they remember how much I've tried to improve in the off season.

Other than that, I should actually really get on this homework before the game seeing as I'll half-ass it tomorrow.

Hope you're all having a good weekend!

~Mary
